All SLX Grinders are V2.5. The only difference between the V2.0 and V2.5 is the V2.5 has a stronger magnet and higher tolerances during machining so if anything it should be even smoother to use with less chance of the lid popping off, even if you drop it.

The coating is a proprietary ceramic, developed from components used to reduce friction on industrial blades and cutting tools. It will never chip, flake, or burn.

SLX V2.5 4-Piece Herb Grinder
Non-Stick Ceramic Coating SLX Version 2.5 is coated inside and out with our proprietary non-stick ceramic. Every lip, every tooth!. It never sticks, and it doesn't need cleaning. Our coating is bonded with the aluminum at the molecular level, ensuring durability, is 100% non-toxic, FDA approved, and will not burn or release any harmful chemicals.
ZERO Teflon®or PTFE Teflon®(PTFE) fumes are so toxic when inhaled that DuPont had to ban its use in the tobacco industry. Even if they could use PTFE, they wouldn't - PTFE coatings are plastic based and not durable enough for serious use. You deserve the best when you buy a SLX herb grinder, and Teflon® doesn't cut it.
Aerospace-Grade Aluminum Machined out of 7075 T6 aluminum to prevent cross-threading, bent and broken teeth, or other damage. Most grinders are made from weaker 6 series aluminum. 7 series is more expensive to machine, but it ensures your SLX herb grinder will last a lifetime.
Rare Earth Magnets Neodymium magnets ensure your SLX doesn't pop open unexpectedly; keeping your herbs and Tobacco, moisture, and scent safely inside.
Uniquely Shaped Teeth trapezoids with 4 sharp cutting edges that provide a fluffy, consistent grind. They're also thick - so they won't break or bend.

Caring for your SLX herb grinder.
With some light care and occasional maintenance, your SLX with last a lifetime.
Cleaning the cutting area: While your SLX won't generally need cleaning, if your herbs have an exceptionally high moisture content (greater than 12%) or you use it an extraordinary amount, you may see some light buildup. To remove material that does accumulate:
- Tap the grinder lightly on a solid surface (we recommend doing this over a piece of paper so you can collect everything that comes out).
- Brush out anything that remains with a toothbrush or other soft brush. Everything will slip right out.
Cleaning the exterior: If any dirt builds up on the outside of your SLX, you can use a soft cloth with soap and water to wipe it away.
Lubrication: Your SLX is completed coated in our low-friction non-stick ceramic, and will not get stuck under normal use. However, if your herbal remedies or Tobacco blends are exceptionally moist, you may experience some slight buildup around the lips. This can generally be brushed right off using the techniques above, but if all else fails we recommend our Grinder Grease to make things even slicker. This will both lubricate your grinder and cause any buildup to be easily wiped away with a paper towel or rag.
Use of Solvents: Our ceramic is highly durable, and it's safe to use rubbing alcohol or acetone on the coating without fear of damaging it. However, harsh solvents may change the color of the logo, so proceed with caution. We will not replace units that have experienced a change in logo color or brightness.
NEVER USE A METAL TOOL TO SCRAPE YOUR GRINDER !!!
With enough force it's possible to dislodge the coating. While the coating is non-toxic and won't burn, scratches will impede the function of your grinder. If you want to scrape the teeth to remove any of that potent residue, we recommend a Toothpick or even better a Kebab Stick as the optimal tool.

Thanks Clara, if you want to make it even better try using some of our Santa Cruz Shredder Grease, you don't need it with your SLX but it does make them glide, very smooth grinding! Using grease with a standard grinder is the closest thing you will get to owning a real non-stick grinder like the SLX. Enjoy your grinder, happy vaping! -Helen.

This is the best grinder by far that I own, can tackle that really sticky flower with ease. Definitely worth the investment in my opinion if you're a daily user or use really sticky bud. Cleaning is a breeze, because I haven't really needed to do it.
No Brainer for me
I hate it when you get build-up on the outer edges of the grinder and your grinder starts to jam and you can barely turn it. This happens on any grinder I use but the SLX, it's one of 2 ways I know to avoid jamming, either fork out for a non stick one or use some of that grinder lube, the grease. I find that the grease is actually incredible and I never use my 2pc grinder without it, if I do it jams every time. With grease its really smooth and never jams. One step better is using the SLX, it doesn't jam up, its super easy to brush out and I have to admit, I have used grease on it too and it makes it smoother and of coarse no sticking or jamming at all, just awesome. I highly recommend the Slicks grinder its well worth the bucks and looks like it will outlive me. They are solid and not the kind of thing that will flake, not like Teflon, the ceramic is baked on and it's solid. I would love a 2pc one to complete my collection but they don't make em.

Cheers Ian, I hear you on the grease, it is the best grinding accessory we sell, once you use grinder grease it's very hard to go without it. The SLX is super nice as you say and I agree, it's really the best way to grind without any jamming and build up. Using the 2 together is fine and certainly works well, I can't think of a better or easier way to grind apart from our new electronic Chewy Grinders. Thanks, enjoy and happy grinding.
